2017 Competitive Rider and Parent Information

Welcome

Hello Young Athletes and Families!
Thank you for being a part of Seacoast VeloKids youth racing program Seacoast Velo Racing.  This handbook is designed to explain the goal of our junior program and to set expectations for teammates on level participation and conduct.

The Seacoast Velo Racing Team is comprised of both male and female riders ages 12-18, with the focus on developing beginners who are looking to improve rapidly in a structured environment, represent Seacoast Velo Racing, and represent our program in a positive manner. We are looking for young riders who are willing to be coached.

The goal of this program is to create riders who race safely and skillfully by providing them with guidance as they progress through the racing ranks. While it is the goal of the program to create riders who can race it is not a requirement of the program to participate in race.  We realize that racing may not be for every young athlete but we encourage every athlete to try racing when they are comfortable.

We hope you are as excited as we are about being a part of The Seacoast Velo Racing Team and helping Seacoast VeloKids accomplish our mission:  “The introduction and promotion of cycling to the youth of the New Hampshire and Maine Seacoast communities.   Seacoast VeloKids want cycling to be accessible to any child who wants to participate and to promote cycling as a lifelong activity that is part of a healthy lifestyle.”
